Sodium Pyruvate, sterilized by 0.22 μm filtration, DNase & RNase free, Protease-free, Pyrogen-free, is the most common pyruvate salt, also known as sodium metabisate or sodium 2-carbonylpropionate salt. Its molecular formula is C3H3NaO3 and its molecular weight is 110.04. Sodium Pyruvate is an intermediate product of glycolysis and can directly enter and exit cells. It is an essential nutrient for cell metabolism. In the absence of glucose, it can serve as an energy source for cells and is one of the commonly used additives in cell culture. Some cells require additional sodium pyruvate when cultured in vitro. A certain amount of sodium pyruvate can also be added during clone culture and when reducing serum concentration. Meanwhile, sodium pyruvate also helps to reduce the phototoxicity caused by fluorescent substances.
Instructions for use
Sodium pyruvate solution is prepared with water for injection, sterilized through a 0.1 μm filter, and becomes a 100 mM concentrated solution. It can be diluted as needed for use.
Storage conditions: The solution should be stored upon receipt at -20℃ . The product is stable for 24 months.
